Ranch is a rather large mobile home community in Largo, Florida. Most of the residents of the area are retired; many of them call this area home only during the colder parts of the year and travel north during the warmer months.

The community itself surrounds a somewhat large man-made pond that is home to many different fish, birds, and even turtles. A lot of the residents take advantage of the large open space and use it to walk their dogs and as an opportunity to socialize with neighbors. There is also a community center to the south of the pond that provides many different activities to area residents including a recreation room and a swimming pool.

Dining in the area can be done less than a mile to the north off of Bay Drive. This is where several more casual dining restaurants are located. Some of the offerings include Cheddar’s Cafe, Chili’s Grill and Bar, Longhorn Steakhouse, Carmelita’s Mexican, and CiCi’s Pizza. The restaurants provide great diversity in the types of foods provided.

The area is also home to a somewhat modest AMC movie theater which plays many of the most recent releases. Shopping in the area is also somewhat limited with only handful of major name brand stores including Radio Shack, Party City, Game Stop, Pet Supermarket, and Publix Supermarket.

One of the most popular destinations in the area is also one of the most historic. The Armed Forces Military Museum off of Wild Acres Road is a well designed museum with many exhibits meant to showcase items as they would have been found during war. The museum does a great job of representing items from many different periods from all sides.
