Oak Forest of Tampa is a neighborhood in Tampa, Florida. The community is located to the south of Harney Road and west of US 301. The neighborhood is heavily wooded with a great many kinds of trees throughout the area. It is also close to the Hillsborough River, making for a wonderfully scenic area. The scenery along with the quiet streets make the neighborhood ideal for walkers, runners, and cyclists who use the area for exercise. East of Oak Forest by about a mile off of Vandenberg Airport Road is the Tampa Executive Airport, which is better-known by most residents in the area as Vandenberg Airport, although it had a name change in 2009 so that passengers wouldn’t be confused with Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. The airport provides executive travel throughout the region and the country, as well as many small flights throughout the area. The airport is a common place for taking flying lessons in the Tampa area, with numerous instructors operating out of the airport.

South of the neighborhood is one of the largest hotels and casinos in the state of Florida. The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino brings in visitors from around Tampa and the rest of Florida. The hotel is also a popular destination for big-time celebrities and many of the Tampa Bay elite. The large hotel is located directly across from the Ford Amphitheatre, making it the hotel of choice by the numerous musical acts who perform at the amphitheatre.

Along with the Ford Amphitheatre that draws in many major national musical acts throughout the year, the Florida State Fairgrounds are also across Interstate 4 from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The fairgrounds have many major events, such as the hugely popular recreational vehicle show that comes to town once a year.
