Live Oaks Square is a small older neighborhood in Tampa, Florida. The major surrounding streets include Hanna Avenue to the north, 40th Street to the east, 34th Street to the west, and Hillsborough Avenue to the south.

To the west off of Hillsborough Avenue is an entertainment venue that has been part of the community for over 50 years. The Fun Lan Drive-In Theatre shows the latest movies throughout the week, providing an opportunity for area residents to take a ride back to the past when drive-in theaters were all the rage. The theater is also known for their flea market. Thursday to Sunday early in the morning, they have a small flea market that is popular with many in the area.

Just north of Fun Lan is the only hospital in the immediate area, Tampa General Hospital Genesis. The hospital is a smaller off shoot of the much larger Tampa General Hospital, located in south Florida, which is the largest hospital in the area. This smaller hospital provides many of the more general services in the area and sends more specialized cases over to their main hospital.

Less than two miles to the north off of North 30th Street is one of the closest recreation areas to Live Oaks Square. Rogers Park is a popular area golf course that is part of the YMCA system. The small clubhouse provides the most basic of services, but the staff is very knowledgeable of the course and well able to offer general guidance.

Directly across the Hillsborough River to the north off of East River Hills Drive is Rowlett Park. The park is popular with many area residents, including the numerous children that use it for youth sports. The park has five baseball fields, five tennis courts, and two roller hockey courts. It also has plenty of paths for runners and cyclists.
