Lake Forest is a scenic neighborhood in north Tampa. This neighborhood truly lives up to its name as it is completely surrounded by forest and has a large lake in the middle of the neighborhood. The combination of lake and forest blends for a wonderfully scenic area that really provides a great deal of peace in a neighborhood that isn’t far from big-city convenience.
Inside of the Lake Forest community is a clubhouse that has many different offerings for area residents. The most popular of these is the community swimming pool that is lined for lap swimming. The community also has two tennis courts, a basketball court, and even a playground for area children. Many of the residents in the community not only take advantage of the facilities, but the roads as well. With light traffic on the neighborhood roads it is common to find walkers, runners, and cyclists exercising throughout the community.
Another major destination for active individuals is The Claw at USF, located off of north 46th Street and Fletcher Avenue. This popular golf course is used by the University of South Florida golf team and by many area residents. The course has a large clubhouse with a pro shop staffed with golf pros who are able to assist players at all experience levels with their game.
One of the biggest schools in the state of Florida is located just off of Fletcher Avenue only a couple miles from Lake Forest. The University of South Florida has provided the education for many area residents and is a hugely popular Tampa area school. It is common to see huge community support for the USF Bulls sports teams, especially on game days. Many businesses in the area even place their praise for the team on their signs. It is common to see waves of green shirts all over town on Saturdays during football season.
