Situated just south of the winding Alafia River, the community of Kenda Drive is located near the unincorporated area of Riverview in Hillsborough County. Gibsonton Drive bounds the neighborhood to the north, Cone Grove Road to the south, Kenda Drive to the east, and Fern Hill Drive to the west. It is three miles to the shores of Tampa Bay and 15 miles to downtown Tampa.
Children attend Riverview Elementary School, East Bay Christian School, Rodgers Middle School, and Riverview High School. College students can take classes at nearby Southern Technical College, Emmaus Baptist College, or Florida Career College.
For outdoor enthusiasts, stretches of the river offer opportunities for kayaking and canoeing. The Alafia widens as it approaches the bay, allowing room for power boats and water sports. Several miles east, the compact Riverglen Park features basketball and tennis courts, a playground, and a grassy lawn. Just two miles north, the Riverview Recreation Center boasts soccer, baseball, and football fields as well as basketball courts, picnic areas, and a playground.
A shopping center just above the neighborhood provides a grocery store, post office, banks, drugstores, salons, and a large variety of restaurants. More shops are available toward nearby Gibsonton on the shores of Tampa Bay. Popular activities in the area include attending races at East Bay Raceway Park, a car and go-kart track, and taking scenic cruises on the water.
With its unique location next to both a meandering river and famous bay, the neighborhood of Kenda Drive has become a popular place to settle.
