Hounds Run is a neighborhood in Safety Harbor, Florida. The neighborhood is located to the north of Marshall Street, west of Beacon Place Drive, and east of the railroad tracks.
One of the area’s biggest and most obvious destinations is Safety Harbor. The best way to access the harbor is by visiting Philippe Park off of Philippe Park Drive about a mile east of the neighborhood. This large park runs alongside the harbor, providing excellent scenery and perfect water access. On the north side of the park is a large public boat launch that is used by recreational boaters as well as fishermen. The park’s large parking lot easily accommodates larger recreational vehicles.
Towards the middle of Philippe Park is a good-sized beach for sunbathers, families, picnickers, and shell collectors. Since there are no commercial developments nearby, the park is almost exclusively used by local area residents. The park also offers a large stretch of pavement, which is commonly used by runners and cyclists looking to add distance to their workouts. It is also common to see photographers, nature lovers, and birdwatchers enjoying the wildlife and tranquility of the park.
The Hounds Run neighborhood is also close to several major churches. One of the biggest churches in the area is Harborside Christian church, located off of Marshall Street. Espiritu Santo Catholic Church is another large church in the area, set just south of Enterprise Road to the northeast of the neighborhood.
