Winding Woods is a somewhat unique neighborhood in the way it was designed. From inside the neighborhood it may not be immediately obvious, but all of the clumps of houses are placed around circles that are off of straight roads. This design is much different than traditional methods of building homes along straight portions of road. By designing in this manner, streets in front of the homes have very low traffic making them much safer for residents of the community, especially children. Most of the homes in Winding Wood were built between 1970-1990.
Due to the design of the neighborhood, children are frequently found playing in the roads, tossing around footballs, playing basketball, and riding bikes. Residents also spend a lot more time walking, running, and cycling in the neighborhood.

In fact, the mall is so close that many residents can see the mall from their backyard. The mall has well over a hundred shops, most of which are major brand name stores and service providers. Surrounding the mall is a plethora of restaurants providing flavors from around the world.
