48th Street is a neighborhood in Tampa, Florida. The neighborhood is situated along Hanna Avenue to the west of 56th Street and east of 40th Street.

Close to the 48th Street neighborhood is the Fun Lan Drive-In Theatre. This historic theater provides some of the more recent movie offerings in a drive-in setting. As one of the last standing drive-in theaters in the area, Fun Lan provides an excellent look into Tampa’s past and is a fun way to enjoy movies. Fun Lan is also a popular destination for area bargain shoppers on the weekends. On the weekend’s early mornings, Fun Lan is turned into a flea market, and shoppers from around the area come to take advantage of the arts, crafts, and other goods that are sold here.

Off of Rowlett Park Drive just before the bridge crossing the Hillsborough River is a large golf course. Rogers Park Golf Course. This course is one of the largest and most popular course in the area. The course itself is well maintained and extremely scenic as it is located just off of the Hillsborough River. The closeness to the river also makes it common for area golfers to see alligators, which makes the game of golf a little more exciting.

On the other side of the Hillsborough River is Rowlett Park. This hugely popular area park is used by many of the area youth leagues for baseball. The five quality baseball fields in the park are in regular use throughout the baseball season. The park also has numerous trails that go throughout the park area. These trails are used regularly by residents walking their dogs, running, or cycling through the area. The long distance of the trails and freedom from traffic makes it a great place for active residents to get some exercise.
