Tuskegee is a neighborhood in Tallahassee, Florida in the zip code 32305. The boundaries of the neighborhood are West Orange Avenue on the north, Pasco Street on the west, and Pasco Court of the south. The east border is the end of the cul-de-sacs in the neighborhood. Located south of downtown Tallahassee, this neighborhood is within walking distance to Florida A&M University. This is a diverse neighborhood which has some single family detached homes but also a church and a school.

Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church is located on Pasco Street in the center of the neighborhood. This congregation has been together for over 100 years and has been at the current location for over 35 years. The current church is new. As the congregation grew to over 2500 from the original 150, more space was needed. This is an active community that has participated in many events in Tallahassee. Two worship services and Sunday School are available every Sunday.

Southside Shopping Plaza, which is a five minute walk from Tuskegee, has several stores including a Family Dollar Store and a Harvey’s Supermarket as well as a Wendy’s right across the street. On West Orange Avenue there is a McDonald’s, a Burger King, and a Taco Bell.

When it comes to the children in the neighborhood, schools are very conveniently located. The Nimms Middle School is located on the west side of Pasco Street within the Tuskegee neighborhood. On the FAMU campus, the DRS Elementary and High Schools require application to be accepted into their program.

Florida A&M has a large campus within a few blocks of Tuskegee. They are one of the largest employers in this area. This offers many opportunities to residents of the neighborhood.
