Rosehill Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Rosehill is a neighborhood in Tallahassee, Florida, in the 32312 zip code. The borders are Ox Bottom Road on the north, County Road 155 on the west, Chimney Swift Hollow on the east, and Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park on the south. This is a quiet residential area that is still very rural with large heavily wooded areas. It completely surrounds Lake Elizabeth.
Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park is a tribute to the couple who created the gardens, Alfred B. and Louise Maclay. They chose this piece of land as their winter home and created a masterpiece of gardening architecture. The gardens were designed to bloom during the winter months, which coincided with the family being in residence, reaching their peak in March. Among the many beautiful flowers are camellias, magnolias, and azaleas. Brick paths meander through the park, and multi-use trails offer opportunities to hike, bike, horseback ride, and enjoy nature. The Maclay house is open for visits as well. The park also has two lakes where visitors can swim, boat, and kayak.
Maclay School is located on a 100-acre campus adjacent to the Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park. In operation since 1968, this private educational institution serves children from Pre-K through grade 12.
The Meadows Soccer Complex, operated by the city of Tallahassee, is located less than a mile from Rosehill. It is the home of the local soccer leagues and boasts 10 fields, some of them with lighting.
At the junction of Maclay Boulevard and Village Square Boulevard, a shopping center has a Fresh Market, as well as a couple of restaurants. Across the road on Village Square Boulevard, there are additional dining and shopping opportunities, including a Publix supermarket.
