Heritage Oaks First is a distinctive neighborhood of luxury homes. Most are two-stories in styles ranging from Tudor to Colonial. Each home is unique. Lawns are park-like with stately trees. The neighborhood borders Scenic Highway with access via Rosemont Drive in zip code 32514.

Heritage Oaks First is only a few blocks and withing walking distance of Escambia Bay. The bay itself and the watershed above it provide seemingly unlimited recreation. The small, clear rivers of Escambia River Wildlife Management Area are favorites with kayakers and canoeists. Escambia Bay’s wide waters invite boaters to explore these waters before venturing on to Pensacola Bay and ultimately the Gulf of Mexico.

Pensacola’s historic sites are for many people as popular as its recreational areas. With a past reaching back to the 1500s, a number of these locations have achieved National Registry status. The Pensacola Naval Air Station alone has 55 significant sites. This was the first permanent naval base and dates to 1914. It is also the home of the Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron commonly known as the Blue Angels.

Often in Pensacola, historic sites blend with natural areas as in the Gulf Island National Seashore. Fort San Carlos de Barrancas is such an example. Built in the early 1800s, it has been a National Historic Landmark for almost half a century. The national seashore also protects the lovely barrier islands and offers miles of unspoiled beaches.

Pensacola offers a wealth of shopping and a vibrant nightlife. Cordova Mall is not far from Heritage Oaks First, allowing residents easy access to fine dining, shops, and a theater.

Fine social clubs augment the neighborhood’s recreational and entertainment options. These include Pensacola Country Club and Scenic Hills Country Club. The cultural district near Plaza Ferdinand VII offers theatrical performances, symphonies, art museums and galleries, and restaurants along the harbor.
