Heatherwood Apartments for Rent

(hide neighborhood information)

The suburban neighborhood of Heatherwood, in the coastal city of Pensacola, Florida, is defined by brick ranch homes on well-maintained lawns. Escambia High School lies within walking distance, as do several small retailers and restaurants. Heatherwood lies along the east side of North 77th Avenue, with access by Long Meadow Lane. This sunny Escambia County community occupies the 32506 zip code area.

The area is conveniently located near several recreational areas, especially the beaches along the Gulf of Mexico. The most popular, Pensacola Beach, is within one-half hour’s drive. This lively beach hosts summer concerts adjacent to an enormous fishing pier lined with open-air bars, restaurants and numerous shops. The Pensacola Fishing Pier welcomes visitors hoping to catch a glimpse of the local marine life. Of course, the 1,475-foot pier is a great fishing spot, too. Quieter beaches are closer to Heatherwood, approximately 20 minutes away by car near Perdido Key. These beaches offer fishing and swimming beaches, along with kayaking and canoeing.

The nearby University Mall is anchored by a JC Penney’s and Sears, while the Cordova Mall offers Dillard’s and Ann Taylor Loft. The area around Cordova Mall also features numerous restaurants, a large theatre complex and bowling lanes. Both shopping areas are within 10 miles of the neighborhood.

Golfers will find two courses close by. Marcus Pointe Golf Club is only four miles away, and Osceola Municipal Golf Course is even closer.

Several institutes of higher learning are available in the area. Pensacola Junior College sits near the downtown area, while Pensacola State College is located near Cordova Mall. The largest local school is the University of West Florida, which provides both undergraduate and graduate degrees.

History buffs will find plenty of places to explore, both along the coast and in the downtown historic district. Pensacola is a city of year-round celebrations and festivals, providing a variety of interesting and affordable entertainment options.
