Harbour Square Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Harbour Square is a quiet neighborhood located on the eastern end of historic Pensacola, Florida. It sits within a few blocks of Scenic Highway/Route 90 and Escambia Bay, an arm of the larger Pensacola Bay. Neighborhood developers kept a nautical flavor alive by using street names such as Anchor Lane, Voyager Drive and Sailboat Lane. There is also a nod to England with the decidedly British spelling of “harbour.” That nation’s flag did fly over Pensacola for a time, starting in 1763.
Harbour Square Drive, off of East Olive Road, is the most direct entry to the community, with all other roadways, many of them cul-de-sacs, branching off. Tradewinds Drive is the longest road; on its northern end the road connects to a commercial zone on Old Spanish Trail Road and the General Electric plant. Most of the homes are single-family, but there are a small number of duplexes and apartments. Home sites are large and many backyards have their own swimming pools. To the east are a few acres of undeveloped forest land separating this community from the next.
Regency Park, off Fathom Road, offers a colorful children’s playground, paved walking path and picnic areas. Schools are outside the neighborhood’ the closest are Scenic View Elementary and Ferry Pass Middle School. Washington High School is across from Pensacola State College, approximately two miles southwest of Harbour Square. Holy Cross Episcopal is the nearest house of worship.
The Pensacola Regional Airport, Cordova Mall and the Sacred Heart Health System hospital are adjacent to the college. The Roger Scott Athletic Complex is west of the airport and offers an off-leash dog park. Another large shopping center, the University Mall, is a bit farther west along Interstate 10.
