The Pensacola Regional Airport is a short drive from Fontana as well.

Fontana is close to the Bayou Texar, which is a main estuary of Pensacola Bay. Residents who enjoy fresh-water activities such as fishing and boating have many options nearby. Bay View Park is the closest public boat or canoe launch. Fontana is a 30-minute drive to the beaches, Pensacola Bay, and the Gulf of Mexico. There are many public beaches along the coast, including the Gulf Islands National Seashore and the Fort Pickens State Park, where residents can enjoy the Florida sun, sand, and surf. While on the coast, history buffs can enjoy historic downtown Pensacola.
