The neighborhood of East Port is located north and slightly east of downtown Pensacola and just to the northwest of the Pensacola Regional Airport. It is a community of mostly medium-sized ranch homes, but one heavily-wooded area contains a trailer park. The only current listed home in East Port has been put on the market at $162,000.

Schools in and around East Port include Scenic Heights Elementary School and the Aletheia Christian Academy. The PACE Center for Girls is an early-intervention program serving girls aged 12-17. The Center’s goal is to keep adolescent girls out of the juvenile justice system and to provide hope and training for those who are troubled.

Big Lagoon State Park is a great place to go for nature lovers. A large variety of birds can be found in its saltwater marshes and pine flatwoods. Visitors at the park can go boating, camping, fishing, hiking, or swimming. It is family-friendly, and leashed pets are allowed.

TripAdvisor rates Pensacola Beach on Santa Rosa Island as one of the country’s top 10 beaches. The Portofino Boardwalk has open-air restaurants and bars and numerous shops. The Navy’s Blue Angels perform at the Pensacola Beach Air Show held there during the summer.

Nightlife opportunities on Santa Rosa Island include the Paradise Bar and Grill, Sabine Sandbar, the Break Beach Bar, and Bamboo Willies Beachside Bar.

The Saenger Theatre in downtown Pensacola is the place to go for live theater, off-Broadway musicals, comedy, opera, and performances of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra.
