Large shade trees tower over the lawns and sidewalks of the Corry Heights neighborhood. Tidy cottages sit snugly on small lawns, and most are within walking distance of retail and dining establishments. Corry Heights is bound by Chief’s Way, New Warrington Road, and Kennington Drive in zip code 32507.
This neighborhood lies between the Naval facilities immediately to the west, including two hospitals, and a large retail area to the east. It is centrally located, allowing residents to take full advantage of the many recreational features of greater Pensacola. It is less than one mile to Pensacola Junior College Warrington Campus. Shopping is as close as the WalMart, less than one mile away.
Pensacola is a fisherman’s paradise, with many bayous, bays, and rivers, and public boat launches located at prime areas. Bayou Chico is close by and Harbor View Marine, located near the bridge, is a full-service facility which also rents boats. Pensacola’s piers provide other opportunities for fishermen. Pensacola Bay Bridge provides approximately one mile of fishing pier over the bay, only five miles from Corry Heights. For Gulf of Mexico fishing, the 1,475-foot Pensacola Beach Pier is also a good place to watch for wildlife or simply enjoy the emerald green waters below.
This is also a music lover’s city. Year round festivals and events feature musical styles from country to reggae to jazz and blues. During the summer months, many enjoy the free concerts on Pensacola Beach. One large event, an R and B festival, is held at the Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds not far away.
Another Pensacola tradition is the Blue Angels, and many major events include an air show. The National Naval Aviation Museum is one of the largest in the world, and has an IMAX, along with hundreds of displays and exhibits.
