Baywoods, located off the shores of Escambia Bay, lies ten miles north of downtown Pensacola, Florida. The neighborhood sits four miles north of the Pensacola Regional Airport and minutes from Interstate 10. It is a well-maintained residential area with landscaped lots.

Residents live within walking distance of the Aletheia Christian Academy and Baywoods Park. The park has a ball field and open play space. Although on the northern end of the city, Baywoods is also close to several churches and business, including the Gulf Point Animal Hospital.

Pensacola boasts more than 70 parks. The Baywoods area shares neighborhood parks such as Belvedere, Eastgate and Woodcliff, as well as the larger Hitzman Optimist Park. Lavallet Park is five minutes south of the Baywoods community. Lavallet offers abundant shade, a walking path, picnic shelter and playground. The park lies adjacent to the Regional Airport. The 1,400-acre airport features a two-story terminal, 10 gates, and 82 arrivals/departures daily.

Next to the airport is the city’s Roger Scott Athletic Complex. The large park includes an enclosed dog park, a swimming pool, a tennis complex and multiple sports fields. The Vickrey Community Center in the center of the park offers classes and programs for all ages. Within the building are fitness rooms, meeting spaces and locker rooms with showers.

The area surrounding the airport is a busy one; in addition to the Workman Middle School and Washington High School, the Pensacola State College sits between 9th Avenue and Tippen Avenue, offering more than 100 areas of study. South of the college is the Cordova Mall and Sacred Heart Hospital.
