Panoramic views of Escambia Bay and water access are just two of the appealing qualities of the luxury homes of Baytop. Bound by Scenic Highway and white sand beaches, some homes have both piers extending into the bay and in-ground pools. Further, these resort-like homes are conveniently located for other Pensacola activities.
Less than 10 miles away lie the premier facilities of the Pensacola Yacht Club and Pensacola Country Club. The yacht club delivers the services and facilities one expects from a quality club, including an Olympic-size swimming pool and tennis courts. Pensacola Country Club, founded in 1902, has a new clubhouse overlooking Pensacola Bay.
Both facilities sit close to the cultural and historic district. In the multi-block downtown area, residents can visit the Saenger Theatre and the Pensacola Museum of Art. The symphony performs at the Saenger, an historic theatre that also brings Broadway shows and other national performances.
Aside from its several small colleges, Pensacola houses the University of West Florida. UWF’s student enrollment of 12,000 undergraduate and graduate students makes for a bustling campus, and the school also thrills the community with theatrical performances and college sports. The nearby Pensacola State College and Pensacola Junior College offer other educational options.
One of the oldest cities in the nation, Pensacola has fascinating historic sites awaiting exploration, both along the Gulf and downtown. The Colonial Archaeological Trail runs from Ferdinand Plaza to Seville Square. Exhibits along the trail explain significant events in the city’s past. The T. T. Wentworth Jr. Museum is one of many historic buildings near Seville Square.
Santa Rosa Island and Pensacola Beach are located on one of the longest barrier islands in the world. Fortunately, the Gulf Islands National Seashore protects this ecosystem and offers unspoiled recreational sites.
