Lakeland’s small Raintree neighborhood is situated along Raintree Boulevard on the west side of Lake John and south of Cleveland Heights Country Club. The neighborhood consists of single-family, split-level apartments and two-story homes in a clean and well-maintained environment.
The community is accessed via Cleveland Heights Boulevard on the western boundary. Due to limited access and not having any outlets, the main traffic is from residents which provides a tranquil and safe community.
Raintree is one of Lakeland, Florida’s southern neighborhoods situated approximately two miles south of downtown. The community is surrounded by a variety of recreational venues including Lake Hollingsworth, Lake Bentley, Lake Somerset, and of course, the golf course and neighboring Lake John. Lakeland offers 38 named lakes and the 96-acre Lake John is one of the more popular destinations. Boat accessibility to the lake is provided at nearby Curtis Peterson Park.
Along the southern border of Raintree is Curtis Peterson Park Road where residents can access this multi-functional park. Not only does the park provide boat ramps for Lake John, but residents can enjoy a day walking or hiking along the paved trails shaded by the scenic landscape. Athletic fields, picnic areas, and a playground are also provided. Anglers without a boat can bank fish from various areas of the park.
Public schools within the vicinity of Raintree include Carlton W. Palmore Elementary and Lakeland Highlands Middle School. Palmore is approximately a quarter mile to the southwest of the community. Lakeland High School is north of the neighborhood on the east side of downtown Lakeland.
For shopping and dining venues, residents have various options located along Cleveland Heights Boulevard. A few miles to the east is Lakeland Marketplace and to the west is Merchants Walk. Merchants Walk provides large chain stores and various restaurants.
