Palomar Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
With its majestic tree-lined streets and panoramic lake views, Palomar is a sought-after neighborhood. This established community, which is surrounded by several lakes, gives residents year-round scenic views and cool breezes. The northern tip of the community sits on Lake Fairview and the northwest section sits on Lake Sara. Just outside the southern border is Lake Silver.
Home designs in the Palomar community tend toward sprawling ranch-style houses built from the 1950s through the 1970s. You’ll also find Mediterranean-style homes constructed in the 1970s. Lakeside homes such as those along Lake Sara have access to public boat ramps. Palomar encompasses zip code 32804. The community is bordered by Lake Fairview and Little Lake Fairview on the north, Edgewater Drive Interstate 424 on the east, Lake Silver and Silver Star Road Interstate 416 on the south, and North Rio Grande Avenue, Lake Sara, and Lake Fairview on the west. It is comprised primarily of residences, but there are some commercial buildings, including shops, restaurants, recreational facilities, and service establishments.
Of the many appealing aspects of the Palomar neighborhood are the surrounding lakes, such as Lake Fairview. This 397-acre water body offers opportunities to boat, fish, and participate in water sports. On the west shores of the lake is Lake Fairview Park. This scenic recreational area consists of 23 acres that offer opportunities to picnic, hike, and bike. There are also playgrounds, five athletic fields, and a public boat ramp. To the east just outside the neighborhood’s boundaries lies Dubsdread Country Club and Golf Course. Originally designed in 1923 and renovated in 2008, the golf course was the site of many historic sports events, such as the Orlando Golf Open, when it hosted golf legends such as Sam Snead, Ben Hogan, and Claude Harmon.
