Malibu Groves is a neighborhood of many small residences built in the 1950s to the 1960s. The average home value in the area is under $100k. The low cost of homes and quick access to the East to West Expressway on the northern border makes this a popular community.

To the southwest of Malibu Groves is one of the largest community colleges in the area. Valencia College has a large campus and serves many of the recent high school graduates throughout the Orlando area and beyond. The college serves as a means of growth for area residents. In fact, many residents in the area take advantage of not only college classes, but also the numerous workshops the college holds.

Recreation in Malibu Groves is an ongoing event. It doesn’t matter what time of day the community is visited, there are children playing outside and families socializing with one another. Since the majority of residents in this community have lived in these homes their entire lives, many of the residents here know each other very well. It is common for the homes to be passed down and lived in rather than sold like in many other communities.

On the west side of the neighborhood is a large field called Rattlesnake Park. This is a popular destination for residents of all ages to play sports. During the summer, it is common to see residents tossing around a football, playing baseball, or just hanging out. For those interested in marked soccer fields, a short trip to the north will bring you to West Colonial Soccer Fields off of Colonial Drive. This large soccer complex is known for its youth sports and has ongoing games throughout soccer season.
