A Publix Supermarket is less than one mile north of the neighborhood. Lakeland Square Mall, the city’s biggest shopping complex, is seven miles north, and nearby Highway 4 connects to upscale shopping in Orlando and Tampa, which are about an hour’s drive from central Lakeland.

Lake Hollingsworth is just north of Cleveland Heights, and the three-mile path around the lake is popular with walkers and birdwatchers, who have reported sightings of wood storks, dunlins, and roseate spoonbills. The trail passes along the south side of Florida Southern College, and several buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright are visible from the trail.

Cleveland Heights residents enjoy quick access to downtown Lakeland on the Citrus Connection public bus route #30, which stops in the neighborhood. Downtown is home to stores and restaurants, as well as a farmers market and events, such as an annual triathlon and a film festival.
