Located in Lake County on the banks of Lake Griffin, Fruitland Park is in an area celebrated for – of course – its lakes. In addition to Lake Griffin, nearby lakes include Lake Deaton, Lake Okahumpka, Cherry Lake, Mirror Lake, Fountain Lake, Lake Gem, Lake Denham, Lake Harris, and Silver Lake. Fruitland Park is located between the Ocala National Forest and the city of Leesburg, roughly an hour northwest of Orlando.
Fruitland Park apartments are in high demand mainly because of its fantastic location – a short drive from theme parks, halfway between the Gulf Coast beaches and the Atlantic Ocean beaches with only an hour to each, and near some beautiful parks and recreation areas. Lake Griffin State Park is located on the north end of Fruitland Park. This 620-acre park includes a campground, a nature trail, picnic areas, a playground, and a boat ramp. Activities include hiking, geo-seeking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, boating, camping, and wildlife viewing.
The city offers a great community with plenty to see and do. Fruitland Park’s recreation facilities include tennis courts, a fishing pier, a municipal swimming pool, ball fields, playgrounds, and a skateboard park. City events include Fruitland Park Day which includes live performances, events, and a parade.
