Whisper Woods has always been a desirable neighborhood off Dairy Road on the western edge of Melbourne, Florida. Whisperwood Circle, forms a circle bisected by Whisperoak and Whisperpine with eighty-three homes and a small community park in the northeast corner form the neighborhood.
One and two-story homes with three or four bedrooms each, some with screened pools, on small well-manicured lots make up this family-friendly neighborhood. A concrete-block, brick-faced wall separates the community from Dairy Road on the west and Florida Avenue on the north, and another subdivision on the east. A canal borders the west side of Whisper Woods.
The homes are well-built, attractive and an excellent value in this family-oriented community where children can safely bike or skate on the streets. Moms with strollers or dogs on leashes are common sights.
Because of its proximity to Florida Institute of Technology, the neighborhood is popular with professors and school employees, as well as employees of nearby industries. There are several churches within walking distance. The children residing in Whisper Woods walk to the subdivision entrance to catch a bus to school.
Although the homes in Whisper Woods have all been built within the past 14-18 years, the neighborhood has the comfortable and safe feel of an old-fashioned, small town where neighbors greet one another by name.
