The neighborhood of Ravenswood is on the western edge of Titusville, Florida. Ravenswood Drive is the main road into the community, branching off of South Park Avenue. Larkwood Road makes a lazy circle around the southern end of the neighborhood. Other “bird” streets include Robinswood Road and Jaywood Street. Other than a couple more cul-de-sacs, that’s it.
The entire western side of Ravenswood, and much of the south, is surrounded by acres of undeveloped woodlands. The one way in and out ensures little through traffic. Residences consist of single-family homes, most built during the 1980s. Each is individually designed, but the sprawling ranch-style is the most common.
Walkable streets are lined with mature trees, which also line the perimeter of Ravenswood, acting as sound barriers for nearby Harrison Street and South Park Avenue. Park Avenue Baptist Church is next door, to the south, and Apollo Elementary School is nearby. The closest shops and restaurants are along Harrison Street to the north.
Harrison Street turns into Fox Lake Road west of Ravenswood, and eventually ends up at Fox Lake Park. Offering family picnic areas and sports fields, this 30-acre recreational zone is a prime bass fishing spot. A launch ramp is available for small boats, kayaks, and canoes. Fox Lake connects to the larger South Lake by a canal, so you can fish both lakes on the same outing.
South Park Avenue leads to the Royal Oak Resort and Golf Club, located on Country Club Drive. This course offers memberships, but is also available to the general public.
