Mac Arthur neighborhood is on the west side of Cocoa, Florida. The neighborhood is off Clearlake Road, next to Brevard Community College. Central Cocoa is five minutes away by car, and Rockledge is 15 minutes away. The community dead-ends off Clearlake Road, so there is no through traffic. Shopping and amenities are available nearby along Dixon Boulevard, and the Cocoa/Rockledge bus line makes a stop at Mac Arthur.
Public education is provided by the Brevard County School District. Children can attend Cambridge Elementary Magnet School, Clearlake Middle School, or Cocoa High School, all within walking distance. Private and alternative schools in the area include Bethel Christian Academy, Crosswinds/Rainwater School for Girls, and Christian Heritage Academy.
Religious services are available at Shield of Faith Ministries, Clearlake First Baptist Church, Mt. Calvary Independent Baptist, Cocoa Presbyterian Church, and Soaring Eagles International Church. The closest library is the Central Brevard Library, which has quiet study areas, children’s study hour, and meeting rooms with wireless internet and Smart boards.
Cocoa Beach is not far away, and it offers swimming, surfing, parasailing, kayaking, and entertainment. Residents can stroll along the pier with pelicans and fisherman or visit the Tiki Bar.
Historic Cocoa Village features small boutiques and upscale shops set among Victorian and turn-of-the-century architecture. The village features locally owned restaurants, serving everything from wood-fired pizza and homemade ice-cream to gourmet cuisine. Riverside Park, located next to the village, features a free concert series and a boardwalk along the Indian River.
