Lakeside is a neighborhood located in Melbourne, Florida. The northern border is Pirate Lane, the western border is Cayman Drive, the eastern border is Libscomb Street and is bordered to the south by a small lake.
The Lakeside area of town is heavily dependent on cars for getting around town. This is far below the norm in Melbourne. This could be because of the warm and humid climate in the area. Summer temperatures average in the upper 80s, while even winter temperatures hover in the 60s. There is also a lot of rain during the summer months, with September being the wettest.

What is there to do in Lakeside? Lakeside is a short trip from the Brevard County Zoo which has alligator and crocodile demonstrations. This is a free event that allows kids to see the animals. Children are also able to feed other animals at the zoo.
There is also the King Center for the Performing Arts where numerous shows are available for those who are interested in the arts. The AURA arts and music festival takes place in mid-January near Lakeside as well.
