This 50-acre zoo contains approximately 577 animals, representing 165 species from Australia, Africa, North America, and South America. Animals housed at the zoo include African ground hornbills, giraffes, cheetahs, emus, and hyacinth macaws.
To the west of Isles of Baytree lies the River Lakes Conservation Area. This 36,156-acre state parkland consists of extensive wetlands that provide habitat for a wide variety of wildlife, including bald eagles, Florida sandhill cranes, river otters, and wood storks. The park contains three lakes, which gives anglers the chance to catch a wide variety of desirable fish.
Lake Poinsett features channel catfish, bluegill, largemouth bass, crappie, warmouth, flathead catfish, and green sunfish. Lake Winder has black bass, and Lake Washington contains rainbow trout, small-mouth bass, Coho salmon, largemouth bass, Chinook salmon, and sockeye salmon. Visitors to the park can also hike, bike, canoe, boat, and camp.
The Suntree Golf Course lies directly to the east of Isles of Baytree. This private club features two 18-hole courses, including a challenge course designed by Arnold Palmer, as well as tennis courts.
