South Hallwood Place is a street in downtown Melbourne Florida. It goes north to south and connects East Melbourne Avenue and East New Haven Avenue. It is a mix of commercial and residential. There are mostly single family homes on the street. There are a wide variety of styles of homes; there are some two story houses and some single story ranch or bungalow style. Most of the homes are older. The street is surprisingly narrow considering it is so close to the very commercial area but it has a sidewalk.

The First Church of Christ Science is located on the southeast corner of the street where it meets East Melbourne Avenue. The end of the street where it meets East New Haven Avenue begins to get commercial; some homes have been converted into businesses. Residents of South Hallwood Place really enjoy walking up to East New Haven Avenue; there are a variety of stores, businesses and restaurants there within an easy walk. There is also public bus transportation available on East New Haven Avenue.

The Henegar Center for the Performing Arts is a community performing arts center located in two historic building on East New Haven Avenue. These buildings were part of an elementary school which served the community for 55 years. Now there is a theatre that can seat almost 500 who will be entertained by whatever the current offering is. They launch a variety of entertainment and hold auditions regularly for anyone who is interested in performing.
