While Gulfstream Beach neighborhood only consists of two blocks, it includes a combination of single-family homes, condos, and businesses. The community sits along Highway 1A and is one block from the Atlantic Ocean. Grant Avenue, which bisects the neighborhood, leads to a public access pathway to the sand. Apartments and businesses line much of the beach in this area.
Gulfstream Beach is a fairly new development with most its homes being built after 2000. The business sector is on the eastern end along Highway1A. Walgreen’s, the Beach Side Grille, medical offices, and the Chabad of the Space and Treasure Coasts, a Jewish school and synagogue, are all within a short walk from home.
The Atlantic Plaza and Satellite Beach Cinemas are a block north off of Jackson Street; both provide more shopping and dining opportunities. Publix, the largest and closest grocery store to the neighborhood, is located here.
West of the mall are De Laura Middle and Satellite High Schools. Spessard Holland Elementary School and the U.S. Post Office are both a block farther west. Bus stops for the Space Coast Area Transit are located at the intersection of Jackson Street and Highway 1A. From here residents can travel along the entire length of the island and connect to the Florida mainland.
About a half-mile south is Gemini Beach, a two-acre undeveloped piece of oceanfront land that is a wildlife refuge. While no parking lot or facilities are available, this stretch of land does provide a nice space for enjoying the unaltered coastline.
