Bodifield is a small community that lies south of the village of Cocoa in Brevard County. Bodifield is situated on the edge of the Indian River, and residences offer picturesque views of the waterway. Bodifield is less than two miles from Cocoa and about an hour from Daytona.
The Bodifield neighborhood has a mix of newer, modern-style houses and older turn-of-the-century architecture. Shops, restaurants, and other amenities are readily accessible on nearby Cocoa Boulevard, many within walking distance.
Living in Bodifield provides access to the best of Florida’s Atlantic coast. The Merritt Island Causeway is just over a mile away, leading to the famous Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beaches. Residents who enjoy fishing can catch freshwater fish from the Indian River right in Bodifield, or cross over the barrier island for saltwater fishing in the Atlantic.
Famous attractions in the area include the Kennedy Space Center, the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse and Protected Wildlife Area, the historic Cocoa Village Playhouse, and Jetty Park on Cape Canaveral. The Cocoa area is also home to Brevard Museum of History and Science, the Alma Clyde Field Library of Florida History, and the Astronaut Memorial Planetarium and Observatory.
The Brevard County School District provides public education for the Bodifield Community. The closest schools to the neighborhood, both public and private, include Cocoa High School, Clearlake Middle School, Space Coast Christian Academy, Cambridge Elementary Magnet School, Saturn Elementary School, and St. Mark’s Episcopal School. Area colleges and universities include Brevard Community College, Columbia College, Barry University, Rollins College, and the Florida Institute of Technology.
