Berkeley Plaza North is a neighborhood in Satellite Beach, Florida. This quiet, barrier-island condo community is one block from the Atlantic Ocean and less than a mile south of Patrick Air Force Base. Christine Circle and Christine Court, which is half a block long, make up this one-block complex, which was built in the late 1970s.
Berkeley Plaza North has expanses of lawn between the units, as well as a shared swimming pool and a clubhouse on the southwestern corner of the neighborhood. Goombays Restaurant is on the northeastern corner within walking distance of all the condos and the beach.
The Space Coast Area Transit, or SCAT for short, has a bus stop right across from the restaurant on Sea Park Boulevard. The bus service travels the length of the island and makes frequent stops along Highway A1A, which has many restaurants and shops. Atlantic Plaza, which is the site of the Satellite Beach Cinemas, is about a mile south. The smaller South Patrick Shopping Center is only two blocks north of the neighborhood on the same route.
Sea Park Elementary is two blocks west of Berkeley Plaza North. De Laura Middle School and Satellite Senior High are next to Atlanta Plaza. Bethany Bible Chapel and Church of Christ Oceanside are the closest houses of worship.
The beach is a big draw in this part of Florida. One block south of Berkeley Plaza North Beach is the South Patrick Residents Association Park, an acre-sized beachside park with sand dunes, outdoor showers, a parking lot, and access to surf fishing. A memorial to the space shuttle Challenger and its crew is on park grounds.
