Sitting only a block east of the Atlantic Ocean, Berkeley Plaza is a collection of townhomes surrounded by open grassy areas and palm trees. The only road in and out of the neighborhood is Christine Drive, which also passes through Berkeley Plaza North, a sister complex. Both condo communities share the same clubhouse and pool area. Berkeley Plaza was built in 1978. Some condos on the eastern side of the complex offer ocean views from balconies or outside decks.
To the south, Berkeley Street has a British-style roundabout instead of a typical street intersection, which may take a bit of getting used to for newcomers. This roadway leads west to Highway 1A and the beach. Buildings line most of the roadway in front of Satellite Beach in this area, but there is an access point where Berkeley Street intersects the highway. The Space Coast Area Transit (SCAT) also has a northbound and southbound bus stop at the intersection. A couple of restaurants, Bam Pizza and Nikki’s Rainbow Café, lie within two blocks of the complex.
Roughly three blocks west is the Sea Park Elementary School. Secondary schools are less than a mile south via Highway 1A. Satellite High School and De Laura Middle School sit adjacent to the oceanfront Atlantic Plaza. This mall is also home to the multiplex Satellite Beach Cinema and a Publix supermarket. Heading north on Highway 1A leads to the South Patrick Shopping Center. The South Patrick Baptist Church lies only three blocks west of Berkeley Plaza.
