Orange, CT Apartments for Rent

Located between New Haven and Milford, Orange was part of an early English colony. The land was purchased in 1630 from an Algonquian tribe and was originally named after the Wepawaug River. In 1822, Orange broke from Milford to become its own city. The residents named the city after King William III, Prince of Orange.

Orange is a charming coastal New England town with all of the elegant historical architecture, fishing boats, and friendly neighbors that go along with it. Rent an apartment in Orange and enjoy the easy-going lifestyle – but still have easy access to several major urban hubs, including New Haven, Boston, and New York.

The lush landscape and rolling hills are the perfect setting, and Orange complements the scenery with its charming downtown and several historic sites. The Orange Center Historic District includes the beautiful Orange Congregational Church, built in 1810. The Stone-Otis House, built in 1830, serves as a museum. The William Andrew House was built sometime between 1775 and 1790 and is an excellent example of Federal-style architecture. The Colonel Asa Platt House, built in 1810, is believed to be the work of architect David Hoadley, who also may have worked on the Orange Congregational Church.

With several great festivals and events, an outstanding school system, proximity to some of the best universities in the nation, and an excellent parks system that includes the High Plains Community Center (home of the town’s eight-lane swimming pool), four golf courses, a disc golf course, walking and jogging tracks, ball fields, five nature trails, and more.
