Robertson is a neighborhood in Manchester, Connecticut. This neighborhood surrounds Interstate 84 between Interstate 291 and Welles Road. The area is bordered on the south by Woodbridge Street, on the west by Wickham Park, and on the north by Croft Drive. Much of the area includes a selection of malls and shopping options. There are a variety of apartment complexes and condos, as well as some single-family, detached homes. Public transportation is available, and Interstate 84 provides easy access to Hartford and to Interstate 91.
The 250-acre Wickham Park is one of the gems of Manchester. The park’s gardens have six different themes and are a favorite for wedding photos. There is also an aviary and a nature center. The disc golf course is a popular attraction for locals, but there are also tennis courts, volleyball courts, ball fields, multi-use trails, and picnic areas.
Union Pond is a former mill pond that today serves as a scenic refuge. Fishing and non-motorized water sports are allowed, and anglers can hope to catch large and small mouth bass. The Union Pond Trail is part of a larger trail that spans several other towns; it provides a great place for hiking in the area.
Shopping malls are abound in this area. There is the Shoppes at Buckland Hills, the Shoppes at Evergreen Walk, Buckland Hills Mall, and Plaza at Buckland Hills. Target, Walmart, Kohl’s, and LL Bean are all available nearby, as well as several chain restaurants.
The Whiton Memorial Library branch of the Manchester Public Library is also located in this neighborhood.
