Wilmington, CA Apartments for Rent

Wilmington is on the west side of Long Beach and contains Terminal Island, the Port of Long Beach, and the Long Beach Naval Complex. This Pacific Coast community is considered a district of Los Angeles and is 21 miles directly south of downtown LA.

Rent a Wilmington apartment and enjoy this gorgeous seaside community’s wide sidewalks, lacy palm trees, and charming neighborhoods. When you want the shops, restaurants, star-studded events, museums, and sites of LA, a short trip up Harbor Freeway will get you there in less than half an hour.

Wilmington is home to the Banning House, a historical landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house was built in 1863 by General Phineas Banning and now operates as a museum. Banning Park features the property and the gardens and includes the museum and a gift store. Special events held at the museum include Victorian Christmas, Tea & Tunes, Wisteria Regale, and the Phineas Banning Birthday Concert.

Just down the street from Banning House, the Drum Barracks is another historical landmark on the National Register of Historic Places. The Drum Barracks is the only Civil War-era military facility remaining in the Los Angeles area. The building served as the Union Army headquarters for Southern California and the Arizona Territory from 1864 to 1871. Events include the Wilmington Holiday Parade, A Civil War Christmas, Halloween Candlelight Tours, and Remembrance Day.
