Wilmington is home to the Banning House, a historical landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house was built in 1863 by General Phineas Banning and now operates as a museum. Special events held at the museum include Victorian Christmas, Tea & Tunes, Wisteria Regale, and the Phineas Banning Birthday Concert.
Just down the street from Banning House, the Drum Barracks is another historical landmark on the National Register of Historic Places.
