One of the prettiest parts of Sunnyvale is definitely Panama Park. Featuring a beautiful park of the same name as the neighborhood and a host of businesses and restaurants alongside Fremont Avenue, Panama Park is both picturesque and convenient.
Nearly all the homes on the northern end of Panama Park have a cherry tree in the backyard. This is because the land used for the nearby neighborhood of Cherry Orchard and the northern end of Panama Park used to be a large cherry tree orchard. When lots were subdivided for home-building, the developers made the decision to leave one cherry tree in the backyard of each home.
While the southern end of Panama Park doesn’t have cherry trees, it does have easy access to Ortega Park, one of the biggest parks in this part of Sunnyvale. Many Panama Park residents go there often to play and have fun. Dog walkers also frequent the park, as well as adorn the sidewalks along the tree-lined streets.
Shopping at Panama Park is actually one of the better experiences in the entire county. A host of stores start at the Fremont Corners Shopping Center and continue along Sunnyvale Saratoga Road to the center of town. Just about anything you could possibly want is sold there.
A number of great schools are in the area. Two great choices include the traditional Stockmeir School and the somewhat alternative Sunnyvale Montessori House of Children. If you’re a parent and are thinking of moving into the area, you should be sure to thoroughly look into both schools, as well as any others you think might best fit your child’s needs.
