Orange Park is a neighborhood in southern San Francisco. The community is moderately populated. Within an area of 0.609 square miles, it has a population of approximately 4,000 residents. It is bordered by El Camino Real, South Spruce Avenue, Railroad Avenue, and Westborough Boulevard.
About 60 percent of all the residential units in the Orange Park neighborhood are single-family detached homes, while the neighborhood also contains duplexes, townhouses, apartment complexes, and mobile homes.
Orange Memorial Park, the namesake of the community, is in its mid-north portion. It is a massive park with bocci ball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, two playgrounds for children, soccer fields, baseball fields with ball diamonds, and picnic facilities. Other nearby parks include Buri Buri Park, Southwood Playground, and Avalon Park.
A number of high-quality health care facilities are located near Orange Park. St. Luke’s Hospital is a half-mile east of the center of the community, within easy walking distance. The Kaiser Permanente Medical Center is a little over a half-mile to the neighborhood’s west.
The massive California Golf Club is to the southwest of the Orange Park community. Many of the wealthier male residents of the neighborhood have joined this private facility, as it only allows men to join. The golf courses are beautifully maintained, and its clubhouse also serves food to its male members. Women are not even allowed into the clubhouse until after 3 P.M., even if they are guests.
The Colma Historical Association & Museum is about two miles northwest of the Orange Park neighborhood, while the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is less than three miles northwest of the community.
