Mitty, a small community on Interstate 280 in between Cupertino and San Jose, is one of the best places to live in all of the city. Easy access to both central San Jose and Cupertino is what makes this place so very special for most of its residents. If you’re interested in visiting both areas regularly, then Mitty is the place for you.
The Cupertino Square Shopping Center is less than a mile west of Mitty, while downtown San Jose is less than a four-minute drive east. No matter which direction you drive, you’ll be sure to have lots to do with your day. Yet it isn’t all about what you can do elsewhere. Sometimes you just want to stay close to home, so it’s a delightful plus that Mitty has multiple attractions within a half-mile radius.
Two great parks are within easy walking distance, primarily because they are actually within the borders of the Mitty neighborhood. To the northeast is John Mise Park, one of the most beautiful parks on this side of San Jose. Many dog owners go there to exercise their dogs. To the west is Rancho Rinconada County Park, a great place to go for running or to truly enjoy the wooded area in a long strip, rather than the more densely wooded design of the Mise park.
The schools around Mitty are quite good. If you have children, you will appreciate Archbishop Mitty High School, one of the best high schools in the area that also happens to be within the borders of Mitty. It’s a great deal when you can find a great place to live alongside such a great school all in one package. If you’re looking to move somewhere as a parent of school-aged children, take this into account and consider moving to Mitty.
