Evergreen is a small residential neighborhood with single-family homes that lies west of Highway 113. While this is one of the few Davis neighborhoods that lies west of the highway, Evergreen is very close and convenient to the university and to Central Davis. Evergreen is in the 95616 zip code and is bounded by West Covell Boulevard to the north and Highway 113 to the east. The university and Central Davis are a 30-minute walk or 10-minute bike ride to the southeast.
Two major supermarkets and other shops are within walking distance. A car-free overpass to Highway 113 makes it easy to get around on bike or on foot. The Evergreen greenbelt terminates in Arroyo Community Park, which has volleyball posts, a primary play area, and more.
Downtown and Old Town Sacramento are a 20-minute drive to the east, offering a regional shopping center.
San Francisco is a two-hour drive to the West on Interstate Highway 80. Amtrak commuter trains offer a more leisurely ride from the Davis train station. The Sierra ski country and Lake Tahoe are about two hours to the east on Interstate 80 or Highway 50.
