Located at the heart of San Bernardino, the neighborhood of Carousel offers residents a fast-paced, city lifestyle. Housing in this bustling community is located within walking distance of a wide variety of downtown amenities, including shops, restaurants, and neighborhood parks.
Carousel encompasses zip code 92401. The community is bounded by West 5th Street on the north, South Waterman Avenue on the east, West Rialto Avenue on the south, and the 215 Interstate Freeway on the west. The 210 Interstate Freeway runs to the north and east of the neighborhood. The community of Carousel is comprised of housing, as well as a variety of commercial establishments that are sprinkled throughout the neighborhood. There are banks, hotels, shops, government offices, and a library. There is also a mall in the western section of the community.
Of the many appealing aspects of Carousel is Meadowbrook Recreation Park, which lies in the southeast quadrant of the neighborhood. This picturesque park offers open fields, biking and motorcycle trails, a playground, and picnic areas shaded by mature trees. Just outside of the community to the northeast is an even larger park. The Seccombe Lake State Recreation Area features Seccombe Lake, which contains trout for fishing. The picturesque park has acres of open terrain, picnic areas, hiking trails, and two bridges that lead out to a small island that sits in the middle of the lake.
The Municipal Baseball Park is located just outside of the community to the southwest. It features the San Bernardino Stadium and a professional-style baseball field.
