Willard is a neighborhood in Santa Ana California. Santa Ana is in Orange County which is southern California. The borders of the neighborhood are Civic Center Drive on the south, North Broadway on the east, West 17th Street on the north and North Flower Street on the west. The neighborhood is northwest of the downtown area of Santa Ana.
Willard is a neighborhood that has a little of everything. On North Parton Street there are apartment buildings, commercial enterprises and a few small single-family homes in between. The street is narrow but does have a sidewalk.
Wycliffe Plaza is a building with 199 apartments for persons 62 years and older. It is located on North Flower Street. There is a community center for the residents as well as computers and a pool table. The apartments are one bedroom and include a balcony. One hundred forty of the apartments are offered under Section 8.
West 17th Street is a commercial street with small and moderate-size local businesses. There are health care facilities, nail salons, several service stations and even a mortuary. There is an Auto Zone and a Game Stop. There are also a variety of restaurants.
North Broadway is commercial with a wide selection of offices, accountants, lawyers and other businesses. Also on North Broadway is the Mexican Consulate and El Sol Science and Arts Academy, a private school which has been named a California Distinguished School. Within the neighborhood is the Willard Intermediate School.
This neighborhood has more commercial businesses and apartments than single-family homes but on North Garnsey Street there are some attractive single-family homes with the street being lined with tall palm trees.
