South Natomas Neighborhood

The South Natomas neighborhood in Sacramento, California, zip code 95833, is bordered on the north by Interstate 80. The eastern border begins at Interstate 80 and follows the greenbelt until San Juan Road where it turn west and reaches the greenbelt that passes through Stauch School Park and ends at West El Camino Ave. The southernmost point is Garden Highway, but except for a few blocks, the neighborhood ends on West El Camino Real. The western border is Interstate 5.

The South Natomas neighborhood is a large area with a mix of housing from apartments to single-family homes. Bus transportation is available in the area but only on the main routes.

In the northern part of the neighborhood, children attend Garden Valley Elementary School and Discovery High School. Shopping and dining can be found along Northgate Boulevard.

The Rio Terra Junior High School, Natomas High School, and several elementary schools support the children in the southern portion of the neighborhood. Two of the schools have park facilities. There are three shopping centers on the corner of West El Camino Real and Truxel Road.

The biggest draw for residents is the 160-acre Discovery Park that is located where the American and Sacramento Rivers meet. There are hiking and biking trails that run for miles. The park is a Mecca for all kinds of boating, fishing, and swimming. There are picnic areas with grills. Discovery Park is a favorite of many of those living in Sacramento.

The South Natomas neighborhood is complete it itself, but living at the crossroads of Interstate 80 and Interstate 5 gives the residents access to everything Sacramento and the surrounding region has to offer.
