The southern border of the Walnut Valley neighborhood runs through the middle of the Firestone Boy Scout Reserve in the foothills. The most northern point of this Diamond Bar neighborhood touches Interstate 10 at the California State Polytechnic University in Pomona (Cal Poly) and reaches the easternmost point of Valley Boulevard. The western border follows the hills of Rowland Heights.
This is a mixed area of industry, affluent homes, and everything in between. A major area for industry, Valley Boulevard follows the train tracks while Country Hills Town Center sits to the east. Nestled into the hills above Diamond Bar Boulevard sit some more affluent homes, but the surrounding areas are more affordable multifamily and single family homes. A few schools are tucked into the neighborhood, and lie within walking distance of many homes.
Walnut Valley sits west of Valley Boulevard, where the Mount San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) is located. The homes in this area are a mix of multifamily and modest single family home,s as well as more affluent homes tucked into the hills. With Cal Poly and Mt. SAC both nearby, many smaller shopping and dining areas, as well as a theater, fill the aread.
The neighborhood supports six parks, and two golf courses, the Royal Vista Golf Course and the Diamond Bar Golf Course. The Little League Field and Park sits on Valley Boulevard.
The Interstate 60 and 57 interchange lies on the neighborhood’s eastern border. This junction allows residents to head toward the beach cities, Los Angeles, and Riverside.
