The city of Oxnard, California, is in Ventura County in the 93036 zip code. The Town Center area is one of the newest attractions in town. Oxnard itself is just minutes from the Pacific Ocean, and residents of Town Center have a vast number of nearby recreational choices.
The Town Center neighborhood is just north of Highway 101, the Ventura Freeway, which creates its southwestern boundary. Garonne Street is the northern border, and Detroit Drive is just outside the eastern border. Properties along the western portion of North Ventura Boulevard create the northwestern boundary. Much of the area is under development, as of 2011.
The California Welcome Center is located on Town Center Drive in the western portion of the community. Residential units along Smoky Mountain Drive are just across the street from a large park area with three basketball courts, a playground, and a jogging path. Workout stations are located along the path for specific exercises. Wide sidewalks are available for pedestrian safety. A smaller park area can be found on Green River Street. Both park and residential areas provide plenty of off-street parking.
The Ventura Municipal Golf Course is just southwest of the neighborhood below Highway 101. Several large shopping centers, including the Martinez Shopping Center, are only minutes away for residents’ convenience. Public transportation is available along most of the main roads in the area. North Ventura Road provides direct access to the Oxnard Airport for travelers.
Restaurants of every type can be found along North Oxnard Boulevard just outside the neighborhood. Students are in the Oxnard Public School District. Ventura County is north of the Los Angeles area and close to Los Padres National Forest.
