The eastern border of this neighborhood is Las Virgenes Road. The Las Virgenes Water District Headquarters is the border to the south. This affluent gated community is bordered on the north by the alley that runs behind the condos and the hills create the western border.

While there are not many shopping and dining opportunities in the Malibu Creek neighborhood, State Highway 101, in either direction at Las Virgenes Road, takes residents to larger shopping areas. The intersection of State Highway 101 and Las Virgenes Road is less than a mile away. Malibu Beach is ten miles to the south for residents who want unique and trendy boutique shopping and dining. Pepperdine University, also on Las Virgenes Road, faces the Pacific Ocean and is set in an area with spectacular mountain and ocean views.
The residents of the Malibu Creek neighborhood live in the seclusion that only the mountains can create, surrounded by urban areas, making Calabasas, California, a goal for many.
