ABC is a residential and business community of Cerritos, in the southeastern portion of the greater Los Angeles area. It’s just south of Norwalk. It’s known for its great schools and being an affordable, yet nice area of Southern California. It’s only a short drive north to all the culture of Los Angeles, yet it’s also only a short drive south to Disneyland and other Anaheim theme parks.
The neighborhood is served by the ABC Unified School District. Some of the best schools in the area include Charles J. Carver Elementary School, which has strong parental involvement, and William F. Elliot Elementary School. Cerritos High School has a strong sports and scholastic record.
Lincoln Station Shopping Center is just to the northwest of the neighborhood. Cerritos Towne Center Shopping Center is to its northeast, and it includes such stores as Kohl’s and Target, as well as eateries and boutiques. Cerritos Plaza Shopping Center is smaller, but is also popular.
Knott’s Berry Farm, one of the more famous amusement parks in the greater Los Angeles area, is only about four miles from the ABC neighborhood. It attracts visitors from all over the world, and residents can easily enjoy it throughout the year with an annual pass. It’s especially popular around Halloween, when it names itself “Knott’s Scary Farm.” It includes roller coasters, water rides, and smaller rides for children.
Several wealthier residents of the ABC community belong to the Lakewood Country Club, which is located west of ABC. The Lakewood Country Club layers its course among 11 acres of lakes and water. It’s one of the more picturesque golf courses in the area.
