Sprawling tri-level houses, towering apartment buildings, and cul-de-sacs tucked away from the sounds of freeway traffic are some of the reasons why Laguna West is one of the most popular residential neighborhoods in Elk Grove. Designed as a community using the New Urbanism Principles, Laguna West is a pedestrian-friendly neighborhood built around a town center and a lake. It is not surprising to see why boats or fishing poles are a common sight along lakeside properties.
The neighborhood is family-friendly, and the sidewalks and peaceful cul-de-sacs allow long, leisurely walks, stroller traffic, and bicycles with training wheels. The spacious Laguna Town Hall is the centerpiece of the neighborhood. With a reception hall, courtyard, and amphitheater in the Mediterranean-style setting of Town Hall Park, the town hall is the perfect venue for any social event.
Interstate 5 is located directly west of the neighborhood for easy access, with Highway 99 only a few minutes from Laguna West’s east border.
For more than half of a century, Kings in the nearby town of Franklin is a year-round roller skating rink for children and their families. The old-fashioned rink opened in 1948 and was expanded to meet the growth of Elk Grove. Generations of residents and visitors identify Kings as a place where family memories are made.
King Park is near Laguna West and honors the family who brought years of recreation and good times to the citizens of Elk Grove and surrounding cities. The 5.7-acre park was completed in 2001 and has a playground, soccer field, and picnic areas.
