It’s the city of Angels, Ducks, jams, and princesses. It’s where giant mouse ears are acceptable head gear, and spotting celebrities is a common pastime. Of course, it’s sunny Anaheim, California – home to the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks, the MLB’s Los Angeles Angels, and – of course – Disneyland! If this adventure-filled city in the heart of Orange County is calling you, then it’s time to find an apartment in Anaheim!
If you are planning to move to Anaheim, keep in mind that this is a busy city – it is home to more than 336,000 people, making it one of the most densely-populated cities in California and the most populated in the OC. It is considered part of the Los Angeles metro area, and people flock to Anaheim for good reason – it is close to the legendary LA beaches, wine country, Hollywood, and both the mountains and desert.
The ever-expanding Anaheim Convention Center has undergone six major expansions, making it one of the largest convention centers in California. The center has 815,000 square feet of exhibit space, a 38,000-square-foot ballroom, meeting rooms, and a main lobby that soars 190 feet in the air. The Anaheim Convention Center features conferences, exhibitions, and shows. It is located across from the Disneyland Resort.
Disneyland features two theme parks – Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. The resort also contains hotels, shops, restaurants, and Downtown Disney. Downtown Disney is a fantastic entertainment area with shops, restaurants, and attractions. Disney California Adventure was completed in 2001, after three years of construction. The park was expanded and redesigned starting in 2010, and the park was “re-dedicated” in 2012.
Once you’ve settled into your new apartment in Anaheim, you’ll want to head to Disneyland. Another must-do is Knott’s Berry Farm – this terrific park is located in neighboring Buena Park, on Anaheim’s northwest side. You may have used a Knott’s seasoning packet or jams – Knott’s Berry Farm has been producing canned jams, preserves, and syrups since 1920. You’ll find those in the park – just stop by the MarketPlace Emporium. But Knott’s Berry Farm is an adventure park, filled with roller-coasters, water rides, thrill rides, and more.
Sure, there are a variety of attractions in Anaheim – in addition to Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm, there’s Adventure City, the Honda Center (home of the Anaheim Ducks!), and the Anaheim GardenWalk – an outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment complex covering 460,000 square feet.
As you search for apartments in Anaheim, you may also want to learn more about the economy. Anaheim’s major industry is, of course, tourism. Disney is the city’s largest employer, but it isn’t the only employer. Many companies have offices or are headquartered in Anaheim, which is home to the OC’s second-largest business park, Anaheim Canyon. Top employers in Anaheim include AT&T, Kaiser Permanente, and L-3 Communications.
